I've been pretty busy lately doing school work so I haven't had much time on making books. However, I have been collecting things for certain books. I think that that's the most important thing, collecting everything and making a book out of it.
I am actually excited for the trip on Friday. We usually don't see graphic design galleries, everything is commercial so it's nice to go see some.
Something that I've been working on is making videos with After Effects. It's super complicated and takes a long time doing just a few seconds. I think it's interesting but doing that took a long time and takes up a lot of space. On top of that, every time I see it, I have the urge to fix it... then I get sick of the music so I change that and then do more edits. It just never stops, I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to design. Sometimes it's good but I need to loosen up more. I struggle with the "artistic" work because I'm so use to doing commercial-straight out-in your face-direct designs. My thought process is creating things that are straight forward and simple for people to understand. Its hard to think like an artist in art school when I'm constantly doing commercial work.
